Workers Strike Protest for Missing Colleague In Factory

Workers in Multifab Limited in Gazipur staged a protest demanding justice for the alleged murder of a cutting section worker Mehedi Hassan (14) in the factory premises.

After workers went to work around 7:30 am today, they started a demonstration around 8 am demanding to find Mehedi. During the demonstrations, workers clashed with industrial police and later were charged with police baton to be dispersed.
During investigations, workers showed Police the blood stains on the roof, claiming that to be Mehedi’s. However, the factory administrator quickly turned it down saying that it was merely red color spots on the roof, also claimed that the entire demonstration was based on a rumor.
Factory administrators claim that after getting his monthly pay, Mehedi went missing. The factory also informed that Mehedi has a feud with a fellow worker only few days before him going missing.
